The other day I went to Book Nook, a local chain that sells used books among other things. I was looking through the sci-fi section and stumbled across Arachne by Lisa Mason. Totally not familiar with her or her books, but the description says, “Imagine ‘L. A. Law’ scripted by William Gibson… Lisa Mason stakes out, within the cyberpunk sub-genre, a territory all her own.” The cover of the book had a very 90s look to it. Doubled text typed in that classic mystery horror font. Some bad photoshop job of a spider web with lens flare, sitting on top of motion blur background. I was definitely intrigued to say the least, even if admiring the cheese factor. However, I started reading it and the writing is actually really well written and unique. Digging it so far, but I can see this being at least a 4 or 5 out of 5 stars.
