Trying my hand at RuboCop tonight. It’s a Ruby linter. It scans your ruby files to ensure that all of ruby’s prime directives are met. That is, well, it can tell you if there’s anything in your code that stands out or needs fixing. Pretty handy, especially for a beginner like myself.
Now, for the other thing on my mind. DCTV. I’ll go in order of the days that it’s aired, starting with Supergirl, and then ending with Legends of Tomorrow. There may be some spoilers, so don’t read on if you’re not caught up.
Supergirl has quickly become one of my favorites in the line of CW DC shows. The story has really picked up, and the action sequences have gotten really good. My only gripe now is that every episode has to pack in some really romantic moment, which can seem awkward at times. Outside of that, it’s fantastic. J’onn J’onzz aka Martian Manhunter, is still my favorite. I don’t even mind Jimmy Olson becoming a hero either, but that reminds me. What happened to him? He just seemd to drop off the show all of a sudden.
The Flash is good, and has been really solid and consistent with making good on that so far. With most shows on CW, it does have it’s own sappy moments, but they’re still pretty tolerable. I’ve also grown to like HR… but what’s with the drum sticks? Also, as much as I love the show, I’m a little disappointed with with the Grodd episodes. That is, the last two-part episode had a really good build up through the first half. They went to Gorilla city on Earth 2, and fought with Salivar and Grodd. But then the conclusion in the next episode was realllly lackluster. I would’ve expected more of a fight or action with the gorillas being in Central city. Alas, Barry kept his humanity, and decided not to kill Grodd like he wanted to. Here’s the thing I really don’t understand though. Salivar was teleported back to Earth 2 with the other gorillas by Gypsy, and then they casually comment on dropping Grodd off at Argus. What gives? What kind of ending was that?
Then on to Arrow. I’ve pretty much written this show off. It does well in consistently disappointing me. Oliver Queen is the mayor, so no more Green Arrow. His new recruits are OK, but nothing really to do with Green Arrow. And then the most recent twist where Aiden Chase is Prometheus, while we still don’t know who Vigilante is. What’s up with that? Seems like an unncessary twist to the comics and what people expected. At this point, I’m not sure why I still watch.
Legends of Tomorrow, I really want to like this show. It’s gotten a lot better since they ditched Hawkman and Hawkgirl, and then added on Steel. I also liked Sarah Lance/White Canary being the captain. She does a really good job, and I can honestly say that I enjoy her more than I do Rip. Speaking of which, the Legion of Doom has taken over his mind and using him for evil. But I’d say he’s been more evil than Damian Dhark or Reverse Flash. Those two guys seem like clowns compared to him. I wonder if Rip will become the leader of the Legion of Doom since they can’t get Lex Luthor. We shall see.
Feeling some thrash metal tonight. This album’s new to me, but still pretty rad.
