I’ve found my new love, and she’s a gem. No, really. I’ve fallen in love with Ruby, the language. Now I know what all the fuss is about. It’s really a pleasure to code in, even more so than Python. So much so that I can’t stop thinking about it. Like, I wake up every morning thinking about what method I can use next, or what sort of little script I can write to simplify my daily tasks. In fact, I wrote this post using a script that generates the front matter with the title and time filled out. Makes writing blog posts a little more streamlined.
Musically, I’ve kinda fallen back to my metal roots. I feel like I’m getting tired of a lot of the same previous bands I’ve been listening to. Lately it’s been a lot of Pelican, so I’m sharing their first album below. It’s hard to believe that this record was put out 14 years ago. I originally first heard it in 2004. I used to work as a “webmaster” for a company that paid me $7.50 an hour to update a catalogue with incents and hookahs. Realistically, I spent most of my time teaching myself HTML/CSS and PHP instead, and barely doing any real work. Haha.
