It’s been awhile since I’ve posted an update, but you know, holidays can be a busy time for all. My main focus for the last couple of days has been learning more command line and programming skills.
Toward the end of last year, I set out to fill in the gaps of my Linux knowledge and get my certifications in order. So far, I’ve mastered a lot of general day-to-day command line tools, learned more about networking, and even finished setting up a headless plex server. It’s been great, but I still need to finish up those certifications. Had to take a break from the classes since they were costing a lot of money, and I didn’t have time to actually learn.
In between learning Linux, I picked up Ruby again. Sometime in the last few weeks, I was listening to a podcast or reading some article, and something struck a chord with me that encouraged me to learn Ruby. So I am. I’ve written a few really basic scripts; basically, scripts to help out at work: a simple date calculator, a url encoder/decoder, and various other little odds and ends.
Most recent album, Forgiving the Gods by The Swan King.
