Thinking and planning

I’ve been thinking a lot more about what to do going forward with my career. Currently, my pursuits have been a bit, well I wouldn’t really say “aimless”, but just less focused than they could be. For example, I read a lot about my current work’s departments and what they do; what tools they use; what they do day-in and day-out. When I read about something new, or I haven’t had much experience with, I’ll set out on my own to learn what it is and how to use it. This has been great exposure to a wide range of technologies for sure, but a vast array of these topics result in less retention of that knowledge. The knowledge I do retain, I get frustrated because I want to use it on a daily basis and I’m not quite sure how to approach that at my job—not to mention, I have a 6month commitment to my current role.

On a side note, I’ve collected a lot of material for the upcoming Mod94 site. Tons of .mod, .s3m, .it, .xm, and a few .669 files. I’m really excited about this. I think sometime this weekend, or the beginning of next, I’ll start putting together the jekyll files and planning the layout of the site. Stay tuned. In the meantime, check out some ambient sounds by one of my favorite artists Dead Voices on Air with New Words Machine 2.
